After The Event

Thomas Miller Specialty provides a range of After The Event (ATE) products through its established brands TheJudge and Thomas Miller Legal. 

TheJudge is an international broker for specialty legal risk insurances including ATE insurance, contingency fee (Damages Based Agreements) Insurance and other legal risk covers operating out of offices in London, Germany, Canada and the USA.  In 2021 the senior management team, together with Thomas Miller launched Erso Capital, a specialist litigation finance company.  Erso has access to capital in excess of USD $1.0 billion and the relationship between TheJudge and Erso means their clients have access to a range of solutions that can be adapted to their particular needs and requirements

Thomas Miller Legal operates as an MGA and provides After-The-Event legal expenses insurance cover (ATE) and Lawyers’ Work in Progress insurance (WIP) and operates out of London and Sydney. They specialise in insuring commercial disputes in common law jurisdictions, including the UK, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore and the USA.  The ATE policies are underwritten by Lloyds Syndicate 4000 (Hamilton Managing Agency) and Hamilton Insurance DAC.
